Flocked Foam

The process of manufacturing decorative flocked foam consists of a magical yet simple process of electrically charging tiny colored pieces of a synthetic polymer such as nylon or polyester. When charged, these particles stand on end like the hairs on your head if you were to touch one of those glass purple lightning balls you may find at a science museum. Then, these upright and aligned particles are glued to a foam substrate.

Flocked foam has a plush velvet-like surface that is typically used for decorative packaging purposes in consumer packaging or sales case inserts. This pleasingly soft coating is available in a variety of brilliant colors, and adds a wonderful finishing touch to any foam packaging insert.

For what typically amounts to pennies per piece, flocked foam can really help your products create a wow factor inside the box and distinguish your product from the competition.
